Eine Geschichte eines Augenchirurgen (Self is yourself without the self, Jay Ghee) Eine afrikanische Familie flog mit einem Mann, der in seiner Jugend das Augenlicht verloren hatte, von Kenia nach Südafrika. Der Chirurg operierte seine Augen. Dann wurde der Mann in den Aufwachraum gebracht, wo sich nur wenige andere Patienten erholten. Der Chirurg nahm den Verband aus den Augen des afrikanischen Mannes. Es gab zuerst einen Schock im Gesicht des alten Mannes, einen kurzblinden Moment. Dann erhellte ein außergewöhnliches Lächeln das Gesicht des Mannes und er stand auf und schüttelte mit tiefer Dankbarkeit die Hände jeder Person im Raum, des Personals, der Patienten und des Arztes. Der Chirurg schloss: „Verstehst du, warum ich diesen Job mag?!“ Bevor wir Selbsterkenntnis haben, leben wir wie diese blinde Person.Wir können nicht wissen, was es heißt, die volle Sicht zu haben.

A story of an eye - surgeon:
An African family flew from Kenya to South Africa with a man who had lost his sight in his youth. The surgeon operated his eyes. Then the man was brought to the recovery room where few other patients were recovering. The surgeon took of the bandage from the from the African man eyes. There was first a shock on the old man’s face, a short-blinded moment. Then an extraordinary smile lighted the man’s face and he stood up and went to shake with profound gratitude the hands of each person in the room, staff, patients and doctor. The surgeon concluded: „Do you understand why I like this job?!“
Before having self - knowledge, you live like this blind person. You cannot start to comprehend what it is to recover full vision before it happens!
